We don't normally overanalyze the things we do. We do them because we want to. Although, if we are making the same fashion choices over and over again, there is likely a reason beyond 'well, I like it' if you really sat down to think about it. Starting this blog has perhaps forced me to overanalyze the choices I make when I get dressed for a day at the office or for a night out on the town. For me, there are so many variables at play - weather, mood, what will I be doing, will I be sitting, standing or even squatting, am I hot or cold, do I feel particularly fat or skinny. But despite the changing variables that may be at play from day to day or even day to night, I have recognized that there always seems to be one constant - I always leave room for swag. Whether it's the top or the bottom, I tend to wear one piece of clothing that moves over my body and not stuck tightly to it. It may be a pair of pants that sit freely on my hips or a jacket that has perfectly placed pockets that I can sink right into. Or maybe it's a shirt that shifts while I move, exposing one shoulder or the other. I am innately attracted to movement in clothing. I like to be able to move in my clothes, not only with them. I am not going to encourage you to overanalyze what you do and why you do it, instead, may I suggest that you leave a little room for swag in your get-ups. I think you'll be glad you did.
